About the International Artists Series of Minot, ND

The International Artists Series of Minot came into existence in the fall of 1948 under the name Minot Community Concert Association and has sponsored concerts of national acclaimed artists every year since that time. In the early days, concerts focused on piano and classical soloist and groups.  We have expanded to include dance, pop and jazz and other music educational focused groups from around the world, hence our trade name of “International Artists”.

In 1999, Trawick Management purchased the Community Concert side of Columbia Artists, but went bankrupt shortly thereafter.  Matthew Davenport and a number of former employees including Ellin and David Lindee got together and formed “Live on Stage Inc.” in Nashville TN.  Reflecting on the “classical” days of Dr. John Strom as one of the organizers of early concerts,  our audience interests are now more varied and eclectic, so the IAS of Minot ND with audience feedback and an committed board continue to bring to this community new musical media and crossover artists that include classical, world music, Americana, pop and jazz genres. The Minot series is now associated with Live On Stage, Inc. and books all or most their concerts through them.

The Evelyn Samson estate donated a Baldwin Grand piano to our organization and we are donating the use of that fine instrument to the MSU Music Dept.  Minot State University has been a vital and major supporter and partner of our series from the very beginning by providing a magnificent performance venue for our concerts.
