The International Artists Series of Minot

By fostering people’s hunger for live performing arts, the Minot Series and other community concert organizations have contributed to the nationwide growth of local symphonies, theaters, and dance companies.

The International Artists Series of Minot came into existence in the fall of 1948 under the name Minot Community Concert Association and has sponsored concerts of national acclaimed artists every year since that time. In the early days, concerts focused on piano and classical soloist and groups. In 1999, Trawick Management purchased the Community Concert side of Columbia Artists, but went bankrupt shortly thereafter. Matthew Davenport and a number of former employees including Ellin and David Lindee got together and formed “Live on Stage” in Nashville TN. The name of the local association was changed to International Artists Series of Minot, ND.

Our audience interests are now more varied and eclectic. The IAS of Minot ND with audience feedback and an committed board continue to bring to this community new artists that include classical, world music, Americana, pop and jazz genres. The Minot series is now associated with Live On Stage, Inc. and books all or most their concerts through them.

Minot State University has been a vital and major supporter and partner of our series from the very beginning by providing a magnificent performance venue for our concerts.
